Life on Kauai
Ho brah! It's been a while. I'm still alive, just out here living' my best life! In Hawaii! Thought I'd share a little bit of what I've been up to since my solo backpacking trip, so here it is...
Since I got back from Asia, I spent time with my family in my hometown Fairfield, California. Got a job back with my former company Hyatt (which I love and am super grateful for the opportunity to jump back in with my Hyatt fam), saved money (bc lets be real, it was a rough transition going from $1 pad thai's on the streets of Chiang Mai Thailand to $20+ for a simple meal in the states), and just spent time with everyone that I missed while I was away!
California is cool and all, but I missed Hawaii sooo sooo much, I had to move back. So after six months of spending time w the fam and saving enough money to get back on my feet, I made the move (again). Last time, to Oahu. This time, to Kauai! I know Oahu pretty well, have done nearly all the hikes on the island, so I wanted to experience life on another island. I wanted to know Kauai as much as I know Oahu. Where all the best places to eat are, the secret hikes only locals know how to get to, and find my favorite beach.
Life on Kauai is so different. Everything closes so early, almost all things are double the cost than anywhere else I've ever lived, some things from Amazon refuse shipping to Kauai, and if there's construction on the road you're in it bc there's no way around bc there's only ONE ROAD. It's def different here. But, it's a simple life. A simple life in paradise. It's the DREAM. What more do you need?
Aloha from Kauai, HI
